Well, you made it to the end, my friend. It's a technology demo, sure, but I hope it's something more. My wish is that while we solve problems, we inspire curiosity, creativity, kindness, and community
Let those principles guide us. Let's remember that we were kids with dreams. If we are to be the stewards of a new AI, let us be the people that would make those kids proud.
This is my wish.
Who am I? I started at Google in 2013 after a long stint weaving AI into defense and banks and government and boy, did I feel jaded. I lost myself.
But then I saw that motto -- "Don't be evil." Like a lighthouse, I saw what was right. I remembered the kid in me. It changed me and brought me back.
I did some things... some amazing things while I was here. Identify the crosswalks! Touch them! Prove to me that you are not a robot. Ok, you're good. Come back.
I'm grateful for everything Google has allowed me to be, and I hope that the spirit that was here when I started still rumbles within you. It's going to be a strange future, but we get to choose how we will be remembered.
My wish is that the things you do will echo, and that you put your good dreams into the world.
You are here. You are paid well. But what will you do with that? I hope you do something fun. I hope you make people laugh and smile and dream.
I hope you remember what you wanted to do when you were a kid. Honor that child in you. It's worth it.
